I’m excited to announce that The Mammoth Book of Irish Romance, containing my story ETERNAL STRIFE is now out! Here’s a little about it:

An enthralling collection of romantic tales set amidst beautiful Ireland’s lush ancient landscapes: pre-Christian ruins, green hills, rugged cliffs, and pounding Atlantic surf. These stories—by writers such as Roberta Gellis, Bertice Small, Jennifer Ashley, Claire Delacroix, and Mary Jo Putney—honor Ireland’s rich heritage as a land of poets, magic, and mystery.

Available from Amazon.

Christmas Scavenger Hunt!

Hello all. This being Thankgiving day, it feels like a great time to announce a special surprise I’ve been planning for my readers. A scavenger hunt! The rules for playing are explained below.

This is a Read, Play, and (hopefully) Win game. The prize is a $25.00 giftcard to Barnes & Noble.

Step #1. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to read all the way through my book Brought to Life. (You knew that was coming, didn’t you? I’m a sneaky, sneaky lady.) Brought to Life is a paranormal romance/time travel ebook that can be found here.

Step #2. Email me at: dara [at] daraenglandauthor [dot] com with the answers to these two questions (these answers can only be found in the book). *1. What is the name of the heroine’s roommate? *2. What famous author does the heroine meet at the end of the book?

Step #3. Wait. I’ll randomly select a winner out of those who answered correctly and will notify them via email on 1/1/10. If there are any questions, please post them below.

Happy hunting and happy holidays!

Spotlight on ‘Winner Takes All’ by Sandra Sookoo

WinnerTakesAllCoverArtLily Henderson’s greatest passion is knowledge. Christopher Farnsworth thrives on order decorum. But Lily’s penchant for Suffragette rallies and logical reasoning soon clash with Christopher’s quiet, controlled ex-military lifestyle over a bowl of potato soup. The two soon find themselves agreeing to a wager and love is the intended outcome.

The premise? A suitable match by Easter. If he loses, he’ll attend Easter church services dressed in one of his aunt’s outrageously colored and beaded gowns. If she loses, she’ll ride, Lady Godiva-style, around the heart of Indianapolis.

The problem is neither Christopher nor Lily can find matches as good as themselves. Romantic sabotage is the order of the day. The original wager is forgotten and the only thing the pair gamble with is their hearts.

OYL-HighIn the courtyard of Jenna Durstine’s apartment complex, where blades of
grass are at a premium, there grows a tall, majestic apple tree.  Nearby at
Grayson High, where Jenna is now a freshman, her infatuation grows for the perfect apple lingering just beyond her fingertips.  But when an intruder invades campus, Jenna must face her haunting past, must forgive her mother for the unforgivable, and must ultimately decide if love that’s out of her league is worth the climb.

Other info:

1.  Novel includes literature circle discussion questions and extension
activities.  Readers and teachers can visit my website for fully developed
lesson plans and worksheets to use with the book.

2.  One book.  One dollar.  One tree.

As Jenna Durstine showed in *O.Y.L.*, trees are a life-sustaining force.  With that in mind, American Forests is proud to partner with Scott H. Books in an effort to ensure trees are planted in the *right place *for the *right
reason.  *One dollar from each book purchase will be donated to American Forests, allowing the planting of one tree in California, where wildfires
have devastated the countryside.  One book, one dollar, one tree.

American Forests is a world leader in planting trees for environmental
restoration, a pioneer in the science and practice of urban forestry, and a
primary communicator of the benefits of trees and forests. Originally called the American Forestry Association, and dating back to 1875, American Forests is the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens’ conservation organization.

Spotlight on ‘Russian Roulette’ by Austin S. Camacho

russian roulette coverWashington D.C.’s professional troubleshooter, Hannibal Jones, is forced to take a case at gunpoint. Ivanovich, a Russian assassin, will kill Hannibal’s woman if Hannibal refuses to investigate Gana, the smooth, wealthy Algerian who has stolen the heart of Viktoriya, the woman Ivanovich loves.

At first the case looks simple – what woman wouldn’t choose a rich African businessman over a professional killer? But then evidence connects Gana to Russian mob money and the apparent suicide of Viktoriya’s father. Further investigation reveals that Gana may not be who he says he is. Then more deaths follow, closing in Viktoriya.

At first working only to protect Cindy’s life, Hannibal is soon chasing the truth for its own sake and must fight his way through past lies, present jealousies and the Red Mafiya to finally learn the real reason that death is stalking the couple. Gana’s lies and organized crime appear to be the cause of the murders.

But to learn the truth Hannibal must survive a dramatic final shootout side-by-side with his murderous client. Russian Roulette is the fifth book in the Hannibal Jones mystery series.
